Is 14kt white gold good?

My fiance and I got engaged a couple months ago and when we went ring shopping we fell in love with a wedding set and its 14kt. My diamond is 3/4 carrot. I love my ring, even if it was from a 25 cent machine, but am just curious if the gild will last, and what the difference in kt’s are??

14kt gold refers to how much gold is used in the actual metal.
Pure gold is too soft for jewelry so it is mixed with other metals and the karats are used to indicate how much “real” gold is in the piece of jewelry.

I have heard of 24kt gold, but that is uncommon and I usually see it in relation to fine china rather than jewelry.

I think 14k is probably the most common/popular gold that is available. Alot of less expensive jewelers use 10k gold, which I’ve had pieces that have held up with no difference to my 14k gold pieces.

If I were you, go with the 14k gold ring you love – it is durable, sturdy, and a good quality.
