Sell for Gold or Sell on Ebay?

My mom has some old jewlery that she no longer wears and has asked me to sell it on Ebay for her (as she doesn’t know how to use it). There are 3 gold chains, 2 gold bracelets, a gold band, a diamond and gold anniversary band and a pair of topaz and diamond earrings. I planned to sell the anniversary band and earrings on Ebay but sould I sell the chains to somewhere for just the gold or sell them on Ebay too? I want to get the most I can for my mom. First, see what the current going price for gold is (per ounce). Then weigh your jewelry on an accurate jeweler’s scale. Then multiply the weight by the going price of gold. After that, look at similar items on ebay. If the items are selling for more on ebay, sell them there. If it is better to sell them for the gold, do that. If you do sell them of ebay, make sure that you call it both jewelry and scrap gold so you can get buyers of both to look at it.
