Has anyone read the book "A Girl with a Pearl Earring" by Tracy Chealiver?

I read part of it, but I have no time to finish tonight and I have to write an essay about it. It allows me to have a page of notes. Does anyone know important things about the book. I read until the part where the family characters dies due to folding or somthing. If you have websites, and good SparkNotes could not find there. thank you very much!

A young 17 years called Griet is sent to work in the home of painter Johannes Vermeer when her father loses his job because he is blind. Vermeer decides to take a job as his assistant and Griet clean his studio. Van Ruivo, the guy who pays Vermeer painting, Vermeer makes a painting of Griet – because 'likes' her. This leads to the famous photo, the young the pearl. Vermeer's wife discovers that Griet had his pearl and sends her away. Griet Pieter ends up marrying the butcher of the family, who had been watching while lived in the house of Vermeer.
