!!
1. Where did the rich, or the upperclass people get their fabrics from…such as their silks and furs?
Usually through trade, like with the indies (later), asia and India
2. Where did they buy their jewelries from…did they have to make it themselves?
They usually got their jewels from Africa, but the monarchy usually commissioned local jewelers to make pieces
3. When did they wear their accesories such as their gloves, scarves and masks…when they were going to like a party or something?
masks were really popular because it allowed you to act different than what you normally did in the formal court. Therefore a queen could act as a commoner and vice versa.
4. what did the rich eat?
TONS! They had everything at their feasts, several types of meats hunted daily, fruits and vegetables from markets, sweets. Their feasts were very lavish
5. what was the rich’s lifestyle like?
The women sewed, danced, read (this is mainly at court), played instruments, composed. The men did all the same, and usually held a title, which meant they were to deal with the management of their land.
This is about the poor…
1. I know they had hand me downs..who gave the the clothe?
Older sisters usually, or sometimes members of the nobility gave their old clothing to their ladies, and their servants. Usually the more wealthy passed down to the less.
2. What kind of houses did the poor lived in?
Small cottages usually, or in the house of their master (becuase they were usually at court anyway)
3. what did the poor eat…
Bread was very important, and anything else they can grow on the small land that they have. Leeks were popular, as well as cabbage, carrots, etc.
4. what was their lifestyle llike?
For some it was very bad, others not so bad. Most lived on teh land of their feudal ancestors, while others bought and from money gained through the sale of their crops.
An interesting fact: Cleanliness increased with the plague. Before it, commoners were usually only bathed twice in their life, once when they were born, and once before they were married.
