Jewelry With Cadmium

What is the difference between KDM mark and 916 hallmark stamped on any gold jewellary?

I have heard gold Jewellery from some places are marked with a KDM stamp which means that the Jewellery was soldered with Cadmium.But i have seen some jewellary marked with 916 hallmark and some jewellaries with KDM on it.I am in dilemma which one should i go for whenever we purchase gold?What is the actual difference between them and which one is good actually??Pls share if u have any idea about this as i cud not find an answer for this from anyone else

916 means the gold is 91.6% pure gold, which is the same as 22K.

KDM means that the ring was soldered with cadmium, which has a low melting point. However, adding cadmium to a ring lowers the overall purity a bit, depending how much cadmium they use.

I would avoid jewelry with the KDM stamp, myself.
