What’s the deal (significance, meaning) of guys /men wearing an earring in their ear ?
What does it mean (if anything today) if it’s in the LEFT ear ?
I remember back maybe 10+ years ago – it meant usually the guy is gay (“not that there’s anything wrong with it” – JS). Is that true usually today?

I can understand people like Barry Bonds or other famous Mulitbizzillionaires wearing jewelry and diamonds and gold on their necks, nose, ears – whereever else they got room to SHOWOFF their money.
I’m talkin about Joe paycheck average street guy who “WORKS” for a living who wears some ole earring in their ears.
The concept of men wearing earrings has many meanings. Some of the more popular notions as I understand them are to show the world that they are unique, different, and not afraid to take chances. Other explanations I have heard: They are secure in their manhood and they are a one of kind individual. I once heard someone use the analogy that earrings to day on men is like long hair on men back in the 60’s and 70’s.
